Rec. 1.c: The DoD OIG recommended that the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, in coordination with the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment, provide recommendations to the Secretary of Defense, in accordance with DoD Directive 5100.01, to identify the policy goals, priorities, and objectives of U.S. sustainment support for weapon systems provided by the DoD to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The recommendations to the Secretary of Defense should, at a minimum, identify available fiscal and procurement authorities or the need to seek additional authorities to provide for sustainment needs beyond FY 2024 for weapon systems transferred to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, consistent with the DoD's policy goals.
