Rec. 1.a: The DoD OIG recommended that the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, in coordination with the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment, provide recommendations to the Secretary of Defense, in accordance with DoD Directive 5100.01, to identify the policy goals, priorities, and objectives of U.S. sustainment support for weapon systems provided by the DoD to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The recommendations to the Secretary of Defense should, at a minimum, define planning factors, including parameters, limitations, and duration of U.S. sustainment support, such as personnel and contractors, materiel aid, and use of U.S. or partner nation depots or repair facilities.
